Minnesota Timberwolve small forward Corey Brewer has looked really impressive as of late.That trend continued tonight as Brewer scored 20 points in the Timberwolves 111-97 over the Los Angeles Clippers. Brewer finished the game going eight of 17 from the field and three of eight from behind the arc. Al Jefferson dominated the glass for the home team. Jefferson finished the game with 14 points and 16 rebounds. 12 of those points came in the final quarter. Minnesota had six players to reach double figures in the game. Rookie Jonny Flynn and Ryan Hollins each scored 19 points. Kevin Love added 13 points and Ryan Gomes had 10 points. Baron Davis scored a game-high 28 points, with 23 of those coming in the third stanza. The Clippers were without the services of big man Chris Kayman who was out of action with a sprained left ankle. Before the win tonight the Timberwolves had lost 14 of 16 contests. The Timberwolves shot 61 percent in the first half and led by as many as 23 points in the second quarter. Minnesota will host the New York Knicks Sunday at the Target Center. |
